The Honor of Being Chosen

When I realize how many guests come to Whitestone for their celebrations of important life events, anniversaries, birthdays, weddings, “our only time away this year,” I feel especially honored. The economy is down and spending has to be thoughtful. Yet our guests continue to return to this “sanctuary for the soul.”
Visiting with a young couple here on a “babymoon,” I was humbled by their decision to spend 2 days at Whitestone before their first child arrives in November. At the same time, 5 other couples were here for anniversary celebrations (from 1 year to 52 years). Often Whitestone is chosen as the place to celebrate and reconnect, or to spend time away from jobs and children, or to be refreshed for the journey ahead. Whatever brings them to Whitestone, they have chosen us from among hundreds of other viable options.
Whitestone Country Inn has received many honors since we opened in 1997. We have received the AAA 4-Diamond Award every year since we opened (14 years). We were voted one of America’s 10 most romantic inns by America’s Historic Inns. We have passed Select Registry’s rigorous quality inspection every year since 1999. But the greatest honor we will ever receive is the guests who select Whitestone as a special place and continue to return to this “sanctuary for the soul.”
