Photos of Ice Storm and Bald Eagle at Whitestone

In February an ice storm came through East Tennessee and coated everything here at the Whitestone Inn in ice. Tonya Damron Photography captured some amazing shots of what the storm left behind this morning. Check it out and we’ll update as we get more photos.

  1. I love Whitestone Inn! These photos are divine!

  2. What a beautiful site! We would love to be there when there is snow!
Thanks for sharing one of our favorite places! My sun loves the eagle!

    Ann Munz and Lee, Jr.

  3. The pictures are beautiful! So glad you were able to stay open and that the people staying there were able to enjoy the breathtaking views. God is so good and in the midst of what we think are trials, he reveals his glory!!!

  4. My husband and I were there a few years ago when it snowed and we pretty much had the place to ourselves. It was absolutely beautiful and I will never forget that weekend. I am sure the ice storm covered everything with a glistening sparkle, i wish I were there!! Thanks to all the staff that make your stay an unforgettable experience.

  5. The photographs are awesome. They really capture the atmosphere of Whitestone Country Inn. Great job!

  6. Lovely photo’s love the one the the chapel through the trees <3

  7. My favorite place in the world. I first stayed at Whitestone in 2007 then came back in 2008 and would pay to work there. I tried to buy a lot up on the Pointe then the downturn hit and God had other ideas. I love Paul & Jean Cowell, and their staff are the most amazing people. I plan to visit again within the next year. I have been many places all over the world and love Whitstone best of all.

  8. Love them all…but my favorite are the horses, funny and serious looks! Beautiful!

  9. I love the first photo. It’s as if you can see the breath of God in the stillness…
Love Whitestone Inn for a romantic get-a-way for my husband and I, and we held our first daughter’s wedding there – such a beautiful and blessed event!

  10. Whitestone is our favorite U.S. destination! We’ve given each other Whitestone gift certificates for the past two Christmases, and plan to make that a tradition. We’ve been 8-10 times, and each season is special!

  11. I loved the 2nd picture of the Wedding Chapel, such beauty and peacefulness. Then being a horse lover, the last picture of ther brown horse, I loved it because of the bright white spot on it’s nose seemed to just shine at me. All of the pictures are beautiful showing the true beauty of Whitestone. My husband and I have been there several times and long to be there again and again as it is a place for rest and enjoyment.
