What About Children & Family Reunions at a Bed and Breakfast?
Do bed and breakfasts allow children to stay?
Do bed and breakfasts host family reunions?
There is no consistent policy among bed and breakfasts regarding these questions. Every property has its own regulations regarding who and what they accept at their inn.
- Children: There are bed and breakfasts where children are excluded. At Whitestone children are welcome. I understand not accepting small children in older historic homes where sound carries between rooms. Modern construction techniques such as double walls and sound barrier insulation eliminate noise issues. Whitestone was designed by architect Gary Best so that bedroom walls are separated by closets or bathrooms. At Whitestone our 22 rooms are spread out in 6 different buildings. Children are never an issue and don’t disrupt the peace of our “Sanctuary for the Soul.
- Family Reunions: As summer months approach, we will host family reunions. The Entrance Barn can often accomodate multiple family units. The Sparrow Suite, which has been remodeled for 2014, with 2,000 sq. ft.has a large living room, spacious full kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and a sleeper sofa. The Robin’s Nest is a large bedroom adjacent to the Sparrow. The Meadowlark and the Chickadee are 700 sq. ft. suites on the ground level. Both suites have a bedroom, full kitchen, eating area and living room with sleeper sofa.Large families can enjoy the proximity of being in the same building but having the privacy of separate bedrooms while also being able to enjoy canoes, paddle boats, tennis, hiking, disc golf, croquet, basketball, ping pong, pool, fishing and so on. There are plenty of activities for children, parents and grandparents to enjoy.
- Couples: Romantic getaways are a focus at Whitestone. We were just voted one of the top ten most romantic inns in America by America’s Historic Inns.
Children are welcome at Whitestone. Time at Whitestone builds memories that will last a lifetime. Y’all come!
