Fall Fun in East Tennessee
Some may argue that the best season in East Tennessee is fall. Fall is filled with beautiful views, college football, and lots of pumpkin and spice. Year-round, there are countless things to do in East Tennessee, but fall is our time to shine. At Whitestone Inn, we offer plenty for our visitors to do on our grounds, but there are endless possibilities in the areas surrounding the Inn. Here are a few things you can do for a fun fall weekend in East Tennessee during your stay at Whitestone!
OktOBERfest at Ober: September 25th – November 1st
This year will kick off the 11th OktOBERfest at Ober Gatlinburg. The Bavarian festival features German-themed food, drinks, and music, every day of the festival. The Smoky Mountain Oompah Band will be performing, and an outdoor Bier Garten will be featured. This is a must-do if you are in the East Tennessee area this fall. Ober Gatlinburg is in the heart of Gatlinburg, so if you plan on making the day trip, it is well worth it.
Dollywood Harvest Festival: September 25th – October 31st
We know you don’t need any excuse to make your way to Dollywood but the Harvest Festival is a pretty good one. The annual Harvest Festival at Dollywood is a staple for an East Tennessee fall weekend. The famous Great Pumpkin LumiNights is a must-see with the one-of-a-kind light displays throughout the park.
Oakes Farm: October 1st – November 1st
The ultimate fall attraction is Oakes Farm in Corryton. This year, the Farm is celebrating 20 years full of fun. Attractions include a hay maze, animal exhibits, pumpkin maze races, and lots of fun for the whole family. This is an excellent attraction for families with younger children, but it is promised to be fun for all ages!
The Great Smoky Mountains Food Truck Festival: November 13th – 14th
The Great Smoky Mountains Food Truck Festival is an excellent event for all you foodies. Organizers plan to bring food trucks from across the region to the festival for all visitors to enjoy. The event is taking place at Little Arrow Resort in Townsend. This drive is a little over an hour away from the Inn, but there are plenty of hikes and views in Townsend to enjoy a day trip.
